Hellmann Globetrotter: Agustina Fauerbach

Family

Hi Agustina, what motivated you to move to Vienna?

Agustina Fauerbach: Born and raised in Argentina, I was truly happy. I had my family, friends, and an amazing job at Hellmann. The work environment there was incredibly supportive and friendly. In fact, I was honored to receive the "Best Customer Service" and "Best Colleague" awards in 2022, which meant a lot to me.

Despite that, I felt a strong desire to gain international experience, especially in Europe, to continue my personal and professional growth. I also wanted to improve my German language skills and challenge myself by applying Hellmann's values in a new setting. With the support of my Country Manager, my managers, and HR, I started exploring opportunities, and when the position in Vienna opened up, I applied. After the interviews, everything fell into place – and here I am!

How has the integration into your new work environment and life in Vienna been?

Agustina Fauerbach: It’s been a big adventure! This is my first time in Europe, so everything was new – not just the work environment but also the cultural setting. Thankfully, my colleagues in Austria welcomed me warmly and made the transition smooth. Just a few days after my arrival, they invited me to the Prater, a popular amusement park in Vienna. Since then, we’ve had after-work events and even a trip to Trieste, Italy.

The team is very multicultural, with colleagues from Germany, Turkey, Poland, Hungary, and beyond, which makes it an enriching environment. Although we come from diverse backgrounds, we work and communicate in German, which has really helped me improve my language skills. This is particularly meaningful for me because my mother’s family is of German descent, and I attended a German school growing up. Being here feels like I’m reconnecting with that part of my heritage.

What do you miss most about home?

Agustina Fauerbach: Of course, I miss my family and friends – they’re still in Argentina. But we keep in touch regularly through video calls and messages. I also miss Argentine barbecues, but Vienna’s multicultural food scene allows me to find many of the ingredients I need to make my favorite dishes. For example, I’ve cooked Milanesas, which are very similar to the Wiener Schnitzel, for friends here. It’s fun to share a piece of home while embracing the local cuisine.

What do you enjoy most about living in Vienna?

Agustina Fauerbach: Vienna is an amazing city. I love its cultural richness – it’s like music and history come alive here. The museums, the stunning architecture, and events like the Christmas markets are magical. I also really enjoy how close the city is to nature. Last winter, I saw snow for the first time when visiting Radstadt near Salzburg. It was such a memorable experience, hiking through snowy landscapes with friends. Vienna’s accessibility to beautiful outdoor spots makes it easy to balance city life with nature.

How do you usually spend a day off in Vienna?

Agustina Fauerbach: I love spending my free time outdoors with friends. We often meet at the central station and set off for a new adventure – whether it’s hiking, cycling, or exploring the vineyards around Vienna. Some of my favorite moments have been in the countryside, enjoying a glass of wine and sharing stories. When I stay in the city, I like walking along the Danube or visiting landmarks like St. Stephen’s Cathedral. With winter approaching, I’m looking forward to the Christmas markets – they’re one of my favorite parts of living here.

Is there anything else you’d like to share before we say goodbye?

Agustina Fauerbach: Yes, I’d like to thank all my colleagues – both in Argentina and Austria – who have supported me throughout this journey. Their guidance and encouragement have been invaluable, and I’m grateful to be part of such a welcoming and dynamic company. I’m truly happy here in Vienna and excited for what’s to come!

Thank you for sharing your inspiring story with us, Agustina!
